 About Us

Our plant, located in Westlake, Louisiana, is
the largest of Sasol North America Inc.'s manufacturing facilities and the
fifth largest petrochemical industry employer in Calcasieu Parish.
The complex itself is located on 120 acres of a 400-acre site and
continues to expand and modernize its facilities. Sasol North America Inc.'s
complex in Westlake began operations in 1961 as Conoco Chemicals.
At that time, it was the world's largest synthetic alcohol plant.
Throughout the 60's, 70's and 80's, the original plant expanded
steadily with the addition of six other manufacturing units. Today
the products made at our plant are marketed worldwide under the
name of Sasol. Our products are found in everyday household items
ranging from detergents, to cosmetics, soaps, home siding, wire
coating, lubricants, and many more.
